Abortion
In order for informed consent to be ascertained, women and men require accurate information from various sources and perspectives; otherwise, those choosing abortion do so without full knowledge of potential consequences of abortion, such as post-abortion syndrome, post-abortion remorse and regret, and the link between abortion and breast cancer, as well as other negative bio-psycho-social impacts.
Adoption and Options for Life
include accessing supportive services to assist keeping the child or to provide a loving family for the child through adoption. Some local supportive programs and services for keeping the child include Birthright and Open Door Centre.
Euthanasia & MAiD
The lethal injections given to vulnerable people who have opted for euthanasia and MAiD, eerily parallel those given to criminals who are penalized with the death penalty via lethal injection. Recent information provides a sobering understanding of the painful and inhumane death that is being administered to those who are in need of end of life care and options.
The average year over year increase in the number of Canadians opting for MAiD from 2018 through 2022, is roughly 30%. In 2022 32,241 Canadians chose MAiD – accounting for 4.1% of all deaths in Canada for that year. If the number of euthanasia deaths continue to grow at roughly that pace, for the next five years, by 2027 there will be 49,000 Canadians opting for euthanasia yearly.
End of Life Options
Without access to quality care and resources that would meet basic needs, options become limited, and without options, there are no choices. We need to support those struggling with mental illness, depression and those facing terminal illnesses with options for quality care.
